A recent report says a Mercedes SLS AMG driver was fined with a nice and round amount of 1 Million USD as he was caught speeding with 180 mph (290 km/h). The speeding ticket was issued as the Mercedes SLS AMG was running on a road near Fribourg in Switzerland. The Swiss authorities have impounded the Mercedes SLS AMG until the driver pays the 1 million USD speeding ticket.
However, a brand new Mercedes SLS AMG is priced at around 230,000 USD, and now you begin to understand how absurd this law is. Why pay 1 million USD to get back a 230,000 USD car? You could buy four of them for that kind of money, and have enough left to pay all the speeding tickets you'll receive in a year in a decent law system.
