BMW Press release:

The BMW Z4 Roadster and the BMW Z4 Coupe in the model year 2008: Exclusive editions and increased efficiency.

Munich. Whether the sheer elegance and fun of open-air driving in the Roadster, or the uncompromising sportiness of the Coupe -

in either case the BMW Z4 is the embodiment of BMW-characteristic driving pleasure in a particularly intensive form. In the model year 2008, the racy two-seater will become even more attractive thanks to new equipment features. The special editions Exclusive and Sport, which are now available for the BMW Z4 Roadster and, starting October 2007, also for the BMW Z4 Coupe, include an attractive combination of premium equipment packages. Thanks to the new editions, the BMW Z4 Roadster and the BMW Z4 Coupe will soon emerge as exceptionally fascinating models and also offer customers price advantages of up to 1,438 Euros.

Moreover, for the model year 2008, the power train technology is to be refined even further. All six-cylinder models will feature an innovative rear axle transmission. As a result of this measure it was possible to further optimise fuel consumption and emission levels for the models BMW Z4 Coupe 3.0si, BMW Z4 Roadster 3.0si, BMW Z4 Roadster 2.5si and BMW Z4 Roadster 2.5i. Likewise, the BMW Z4 Roadster 2.0i will also reach an optimum level of efficiency in the model year 2008.

With these upgrade measures, BMW is asserting its

ability to establish an optimum ratio between driving dynamics and fuel consumption through exemplary technical innovation in all vehicle segments.

This is possible due to measures implemented to reduce fuel consumption and emission levels conceived within the framework of the BMW EfficientDynamics development strategy and now being successively deployed in all series. These measures include a friction-optimised rear axle transmission for the six-cylinder versions of the BMW Z4. Thanks to this innovation, the

Roadster and the Coupe are able to further strengthen their leading position in their respective class, both in terms of fuel economy as well as CO2 emission levels.

Average fuel consumption of the 195 kW/265 bhp BMW Z4 Roadster 3.0si has now dropped to 8.5 litres/100 km in the EU test cycle. In the case of the BMW Z4 Coupe 3.0si, average fuel consumption has been reduced to 8.7 litres/100 km. Likewise, with a fuel consumption of 8.3/100 km and 8.2 litres/100 km respectively, both the BMW Z4 Roadster 2.5si (160 kW/218 bhp) and the BMW Z4 Roadster 2.5i (130 kW/177 bhp) offer an unrivalled ratio between driving performance and fuel economy. With its four-cylinder power unit boasting 110 kW/150 bhp

and an average fuel consumption of just 7.4 litres/100 km, the BMW Z4 Roadster 2.0i will mark the model year 2008 by achieving a maximum in fuel economy.

Elegant and sophisticated: BMW Z4 Edition Exclusive.

Irrespective of the engine variant, the new equipment packages are available for both the Roadster and for the Coupe. The exterior as well as the interior of the new Edition Exclusive reflect the elegance and lavish comfort of the BMW Z4 Roadster and the BMW Z4 Coupe. Heated seats for driver and front seat passenger, leather-clad sport steering wheel as well as a mirror triangle and mirror baseplate in BMW Individual High Gloss Shadowline design enhance attractiveness and charisma of the car. Additionally, in this version the Roadster and the Coupe feature M sport seats. Further features correspond to the Exclusive edition.
