Toyota also announced today the changes for the 2009 model year Toyota Highlander. The new model range will include the 2009 Toyota Highlander 2.7 powered by a new 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that is rated at 187 hp and 186 lb.-ft of torque. The 2009 Toyota Highlander 2.7 features a variable intake manifold and dual variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) which give the new engine a broad torque curve. The 2009 Toyota Highlander 2.7 comes with a six-speed electronically-controlled automatic overdrive transmission.
With the new engine the 2009 Toyota Highlander 2.7 offers an estimated fuel consumption of 26 mpg on the highway.
