The latest rumors regarding the company's flagship, the new 2010 Jaguar XJ, say it will be revealed in the summer in London and that it will hit the showroom floor later this year. The 2010 Jaguar XJ will have both a new lightweight body and a new engine line-up to compete with the Mercedes S Class.
The new 2010 Jaguar XJ will be the first to be launched with new styling and engines, as the company usually uses the engines from the previous versions.
The 2010 Jaguar XJ will be styled following the same cues as the XF and will have the same differential as the XK. One of the new engines is a 3.0-litre V6 diesel developing more than 270 hp.
The top of the range 2010 Jaguar XJR will house under its bonnet a 5.0-litre V8 engine good for more than 500 hp.
