Over the weekend, BMW revealed the details and images of the modified 2011 BMW Z4 GT3 race car. The main focus points of the 2011 BMW Z4 GT3 are improved aerodynamic efficiency. In comparison to the production Z4, which has a 6-cylinder, BMW's GT3 race car is powered by a 4.4-litre eight-cylinder engine, which is probably based on the unit powering the M3 E92.

BMW's 2011 Z4 GT3 comes with improved electronics, including an ECU408 engine management system, and a Power400 electronic control unit. The 2011 BMW Z4 GT3 features a six-speed, sequential gearbox that comes with steering wheel mounted paddle-shifters.

BMW fitted the 2011 Z4 GT3 with a safety cell

made from steel tubing and carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) body. The front and rear wings, bonnet, roof, and fenders of the 2011 BMW Z4 GT3 are all made from carbon.

The new 2011 BMW Z4 GT3 is priced at 315,000 Euros (plus VAT) and is available through BMW Motorsport Distribution.
