2012 Buick Regal GS

General Motors released today the specifications of the updated 2012 Buick Regal GS, which gets a considerable power boost. Buick continues to power the 2012 Regal GS with the Ecotec 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with direct injection, but the power output of the unit is increased to 270 hp (201kW) and 295 lb.-ft. of torque (400Nm) between 2300 and 4900 rpm. With 135 hp per liter and more torque than a Mitsubishi Evo X, the 2012 Regal GS becomes quite a serious tool. In a straight line, Buick's Regal GS 2012 has the potential of winning against anything from an Acura TSX V6 and Audi A4 Sport to a Lexus IS250 and a Volvo S60 T5. At least that what Buick's specs list for the 2012 Regal GS says.

The engine of the 2012 Buick Regal GS is able to output so many horsepowers thanks to continuously variable valve timing, a forged steel crankshaft, a twin scroll design turbo and a more efficient intercooler.

The equipment list of the Buick Regal GS 2012 includes Interactive Drive Control System chassis technology for better stability, a High Performance Strut (HiPerStrut) front suspension, and a four-link independent rear suspension.

Buick also fitted the 2012 Regal GS with active Computer Damping Control, four-piston Brembo front brake calipers, a four-channel anti-lock brake system, and the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system.

The 2012 Buick Regal GS price list will be announced at a later date.
