Land Rover revealed this week the 2012 model year Discovery 4, which comes with revised engines, and new equipment. Over the years, Land Rover had some trouble with environment activists because of the relatively high CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of their vehicles. To address these issues, 2012 Discovery 4 now comes with an updated 3.0 SDV6 diesel engine, that emits 230g/km of CO2. The previous version had a 244g/km CO2 emissions level At the same time, the power output of the 2012 Land Rover Discovery 4 SDV6 has been increased from 245hp to 256hp.
Land Rover equips the 2012 Discovery 4 with a new ZF 8HP70 automatic transmission that features a rotary gear shift selector and paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.
Apart from an updated drivetrain, the 2012 Discovery 4 also comes with a range of new equipment, including a Premium Harmon Kardon LOGIC 7 sound system with 17 speakers and 825W of power, and Bluetooth, DAB & USB/iPod compatibility. The Discovery 4 2012 also features an entertainment system for the rear seats, which is available via WhiteFire wireless technology. The 'Say What You See' voice activation system is also available on the 2012 Discovery 4.
