Suzuki will premiere the new generation 2012 Swift Sport tomorrow at the Frankfurt international auto show. The 2012 Suzuki Swift Sport is powered by a new M16A engine which outputs 100kW at 6,900rpm and 160Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. this is 8 kW and 12 Nm of torque more than the previous version of the Swift Sport. The major difference between the two generations of the Swift Sport is seen in the efficiency department. The 2012 model has a 44.1mpg fuel consumption (up from 39.8mpg) and a 147g/km CO2 emissions level (down from 165g/km). The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

The 2012 Suzuki Swift Sport measures 3,890mm in length, 1,695mm in width, in 1,510mm height, and has a 2,430mm wheelbase.

In terms of styling, it features a new front grille and bumper, together with new finned fog lamp bezels and high-intensity discharge headlamps. At the interior, Suzuki gives the 2012 Swift Sport with a five-dial instrument cluster, better quality materials and a slightly updated design.

Suzuki says that their new 2012 Swift Sport handles visibly better than its predecessor. It features a more rigid toe and camber for the torsion beam, increased rigidity in the torsion-beam bushings, and larger rear wheel bearings. The car also comes with increased spring rates, rebound



springs in the front struts and modified steering-gearbox and suspension-frame members. With the help of larger front wheel bearings, Suzuki says that the 2012 Swift Sport has a better yaw response.

The 2012 Suzuki Swift Sport sits on 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, which are 1 kg lighter than before, and comes equipped with 7 airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) as standard, as well as ABS and EBD.
