Vauxhall revealed today the new 2012 Corsa VXR Nurburgring special edition which features quite a few important upgrades. For starters, 2012 Corsa VXR Nurburgring edition has an increased power output. It uses Vauxhall's 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that's been tuned to develop 205 PS at 5,750 rpm (up from 192 PS) and 250-280 Nm of torque (up from 230-266 Nm). The extra horsepower translates in improved performance, of course. Vauxhall says the 2012 Corsa VXR Nurburgring is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.5 seconds and that it has a top speed of 143 mph.

The 2012 Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nurburgring edition has also a few other party tricks, including a mechanical, multi-plate limited-slip differential

which offers improved traction. Vauxhall says the new LSD is able to tone down the understeer too.

The chassis of the 2012 Corsa VXR Nurburgring has been updated too, as it was developed on the Nordschleife. The 2012 Nurburgring Corsa VXR features bespoke Bilstein springs and dampers, and a reduced ride height (20 mm at the front and 15 mm at the rear).

Vauxhall equips the 2012 Corsa VXR Nurburgring with Brembo brakes, which are 30 per cent lighter

that the standard ones. They also updated the ABS, Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control systems.

Vauxhall prices the new 2012 Corsa Nurburgring from 22,295 GBP and says it will put it on sale from late May, 2011.
