At the end of last week, Porsche revealed the new generation 2013 911 GT3 Cup. The German carmaker claims that the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is the most successful race car in the world, with 2,395 units sold so far. The 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup hopes to continue this success story with the new "Type 991" version. The new model is the racing version of the future Porsche 911 GT3 road car. The car manufacturer says that the new 911 GT3 Cup (2013) is going to race exclusively in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup next year. To power the new 2013 911 GT3 Cup, Porsche uses a 3.8-litre six-cylinder flat-six engine that's good for 460 hp (338 kW) at 7,500 rpm, which is 10 hp more than its predecessor is capable of developing. The race car is rear-wheel-drive, obviously, and it uses a six-speed 'dog-type' transmission to deliver the power from the engine to the rear wheels.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (2013) has 2-cm wider front tires (27 cm) and 1-cm wider rear ones (31 cm). It also comes with new brakes that include 380 mm slotted and inner-vented steel brake discs for the front axle, and 6-piston aluminum fixed calipers. To increase the safety of the 2013 911 GT3 Cup, Porsche developed a new roll cage, and a new seat for the driver. The new 911 GT3 Cup features a roof hatch too.

The 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup's price has not been announced so far.
