The 2013 Ram 1500 was unveiled at the 2012 New York International Auto Show, promising a best-in-class fuel economy thanks to revised engines, a new transmission and improved aerodynamics. In terms of design, the new Ram 1500 (2013) comes with a new front fascia, with redesigned headlights grille and bumper, and a revised rear end. The interior of the 2013 Ram 1500 has also been re-styled. It features higher quality materials, new colors, a HVAC system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and new multimedia systems. The new Ram 1500 (2013) will be available with the next-generation Uconnect Access, voice-recognition technology, and steering wheel controls.

The 2013 Ram 1500 will be sold with a choice between two engines.

The entry level Ram 1500 is powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, which has 42% more power, 13% more torque, and 20% improved fuel economy in comparison to the previous 3.7-liter unit. The HEMI version of the new Ram 1500 (2013) is powered by the 5.7-liter V8 engine, which develops 395 hp and 407 lb.-ft. of torque. Ram says that the new 5.7-liter unit offers 10% more mpg than its predecessor does. Both versions of the 2013 Ram 1500 will be available with a newly developed 8-speed automatic transmission (TorqueFlite 8). The new gearbox is operated through a rotary e-shift selector mounted on the dashboard.

To further improve the fuel economy of the Ram 1500, Chrysler equips it with a stop-start system, a thermal management system, pulse-width modulation and active aerodynamics. The drag coefficient of the 2013 Ram 1500 is rated at Cd. 0.363. The new Ram 1500 is one of the few trucks to be equipped with an air suspension, which, apart from offering a more comfortable ride, apparently helps reduce its fuel consumption.

Another distinctive feature of the 2013 Ram 1500 is its remote central locking RamBox cargo management system, which enables you to lock down the truck with a simple push of a button.

In terms of "working power", the HEMI V8 version of the 2013 Ram 1500 is rated with a towing capability of 11,500 pounds and a maximum payload of 3,125 pounds.

The 2013 Ram 1500's price and availability have not been announced yet.
