Audi revealed today the new 2014 S3 Sportback, which is scheduled to debut next month at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The new 2014 Audi S3 Sportback is powered by a new 2.0 TFSI turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 221 kW (300 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 380 Nm (280.27 lb-ft) of torque between 1,800 rpm and 5,500 rpm. With this engine the new Audi S3 Sportback (2014) is able to get from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.0 seconds (with the S tronic transmission) or 5.5 seconds (with the manual gearbox). Audi limits the top speed of the new S3 Sportback (2014) to 155 mph (250 km/h). The 2014 S3 Sportback's combined fuel economy is rated at 40.9mpg (manual 40.4mpg) in the UK system, at 34.09 US mpg (33.60 US mpg manual) in the US system and at 6.9 liters per 100 km (7.0 liters per 100 km) in the European system.
Its CO2 emissions have not been announced yet. In comparison to the previous generation of the model, the 2014 S3 Sportback's engine is 5 kilograms (11.02 lb) lighter, its front axle is 52 mm (2.05 in) farther forward and it weighs 70 kg / 154.32 lb less (1,445 kilograms / 3,185.68 lb).
The new S3 Sportback (2014) sits on a sport suspension, which lowers the ride height by 25 mm (0.98 in), and a set of 18-inch alloys. It comes with black brake calipers, 340 mm (13.39 in) discs and an electromechanical parking brake.
The 2014 S3 Sportback's distinctive styling features include its new front grille, the new bumper with integrated air vents, the rear diffuser, the roof spoiler and the quad exhaust tailpipes. For the interior of the 2014 S3 Sportback, Audi offers an optional leather multifunction sport steering wheel, aluminum pedals and a boost-pressure display.
The 2014 Audi S3 Sportback's price is set at €39,800 and the Ingolstadt carmaker says it's going to put it on sale in September. The full details and specifications of the new S3 Sportback are available here.
