The new generation 2014 Porsche 911 Targa 4 and 4S had their world debut at this year's North American International Auto Show. The new 2014 Porsche 911 Targa 4 is powered by a 3.4-litre flat 6-cylinder engine that develops 350 hp (257 kW). When equipped with the optional PDK double-clutch transmission and the Sport Chrono Package, the new Porsche 911 Targa 4 (2014) accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.8 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 175 mph. In terms of efficiency, the 2014 911 Targa 4 is rated with a fuel consumption of 29.7 mpg (7-speed manual transmission) and 32.5 mpg (PDK gearbox) and fuel emissions level of 223 g/km and 204 g/km. The 2014 Porsche 911 Targa 4S is powered by a 3.8-liter engine that develops 400 hp (294 kW).
With PDK and the Sport Chrono package, the new 911 Targa 4S (2014) needs 4.4 seconds to get from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) and it can reach a top speed of 184 mph. The 2014 911 Targa 4S comes with a fuel consumption of 28.2 mpg (manual) and 30.7 mpg (PDK) and a CO2 emissions level of 237 g/km and 214 g/km. Both the 4 and the 4S versions of the 2014 Porsche 911 Targa are available with all-wheel-drive only.
In terms of design, the 2014 Porsche 911 Targa comes with wide bar in place of the B-pillars, a movable roof section, and a wrap-around rear window.
The roof of the new Porsche 911 Targa (2014) is operated automatically (19 seconds to open or close) and it gets stored behind the seats. The 2014 911 Targa comes with a rear-biased Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system, and a wind deflector integrated in the cowl panel frame.
