Armored Range Rover Sentinel

Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) revealed recently their first armored vehicle, which is called the Range Rover Sentinel. The armored Sentinel is based on the Range Rover Autobiography and offers a VR8 level of ballistic protection. The Range Rover Sentinel is going to have its world debut at the Defense and Security Equipment International (DSEI) Show on 15-18 September at Excel, London, UK. The Range Rover Sentinel's price is set at 400,000 EUR. The Range Rover Sentinel can withstand hits from 7.62mm high velocity, armor piercing incendiary bullets. It can also takes blasts from up to 15 kg of TNT. It also offers protection from DM51 grenade explosions from both beneath the floor and above the roof.

The Range Rover Sentinel features a six-piece armored passenger cell made of steel, multi-laminated armor privacy glass, revised Dynamic Stability Control and Ride Stability Control systems and two rear seats. The equipment list of the Range Rover Sentinel features an anti-tamper exhaust, a self-sealing fuel tank, auxiliary back-up battery, a split charging system and a 100mm opening in the driver’s window for document delivery.

Range Rover equips the Sentinel with special 20-inch split rims, 380mm front and 365mm rear ventilated disc brakes, an Emergency Escape System behind the rear seats, under floor and under bonnet fire suppression systems, a customer configurable siren system, emergency service lights and an external speaker system. The armored SUV comes with the 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine (340 hp) and the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.
