Range Rover Pickup Truck by StarTech

StarTech, which is a division of the famous German tuner Brabus, announced today that it's going to premiere a pickup truck version of the new Range Rover. No! This is not a April Fools' Day joke. StarTech plans to publicly unveil their creation next week. We're not really sure what to make of it, but frankly, it does look quite interesting, and... rather cool. The power comes from the 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine that outs out 387 kW / 526 hp. According to StarTech, their Range Rover pick-up is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.3 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph (250 km/h). Apart from the obvious body modifications, this Range Rover pickup is also fitted with a wide body kit and massive 23-inch forged wheels.

It features various carbon fiber body parts and a bespoke interior. Come to think of it, this is one pickup truck that we'd actually like to own.

StarTech says that the conversion required them to build no less than 100 bodywork components from aluminum, carbon fiber and steel. The German tuner says they didn't have to make any compromise in terms of passenger space or comfort. StarTech's Range Rover pickup comes with an almost square plastic-lined bed, with a maximum loading length of 110 centimeters.

The electronically operated tailgate offers an additional 60 centimeters of space when opened. StarTech says their Range Rover pickup offers plenty of storage space for golf or other recreational equipment.

StarTech did not disclose the Range Rover pickup's price list, however, they say it can be registered as a commercial vehicle in many countries. This means that, in case you live in a country that requires extra taxes for luxury items such as a Range Rover, even with the extra cost of the conversion, you'll still end up spending less money. And you'll get extra functionality too, we might add. This is quite an interesting idea.

Here are the full specifications of StarTech's Range Rover pickup truck.
