Aston Martin revealed today the Vantage GTE race car, which is based on the V8 version of the road-going model. The Aston Martin Vantage GTE was built so that the carmaker may win both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The GTE Vantage is also part of Aston Martin's celebrations for its 100th birthday. Aston says that 30 per cent of all components in the Vantage GTE are new. The car is lighter than before, and more balanced. The Aston Martin Vantage GTE comes with a revised suspension system, new fly-by wire throttle. However, the Aston Vantage GTE has the same aluminum structure as the production model, as well as the same fundamental engine and suspension designs.

The racing debut of the Vantage GTE is going to take place at the 12 Hours of Sebring, Florida, on March 16th. Unfortunately, Aston Martin did not disclose any of the Vantage GTE's specifications.
