The British press is publishing today news about the re-freshed 2013 Aston Martin DB9 and 2013 Aston Martin Vantage, which they say could go late until 2014. The 2013 Aston Martin DB9 and Vantage will not actually be new models, but updated versions of the current vehicles on sale. Aston Martin took this decision due to the global financial problems which do not allow them to spend the amount of money necessary for developing completely new versions of the 2013 Aston Martin DB9 and Vantage. The internal codename of the 2013 Aston Martin DB9 will be VH500 while the Vantage is called the VH600.

Although the base platform of the 2013 Aston Martin DB9 and Vantage will be kept, both models will receive completely new body panels and a newly designed interior.

The 2013 Aston Martin DB9 will be drawn following the general lines of the One-77 supercar, obviously. However, the overall design of the 2013 Aston Martin DB9 will be aimed at selling more units which means it will not be as radical as the original.

Both, the 2013 Aston Martin DB9 and the Vantage will have basically the same exterior dimensions, but company insiders say they will try to make both cars lighter than the current models.

The 2013 Aston Martin DB9 and the Vantage will continue to be powered by V12 and V8 engines, but with higher power outputs and fuel efficiency. The company also aims to reduce their CO2 emissions levels.
