Aston Martin Vulcan Finds Its Dark Side

 »  »  »

Aston Martin presented this matte black version of the Vulcan last weekend at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed. We have to admit that Aston's Vulcan is one of the best looking supercars revealed this year. It is powered by a monster naturally-aspirated 7.0-liter V12 engine that produces 800 hp. According to Aston Martin, the Vulcan is able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds and it can reach a top speed of more than 200 mph (320 km/h). The Aston Martin Vulcan is completely made of carbon fiber and it features a front mid-engined rear-wheel drive architecture. The Aston Vulcan is built around a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and it features a body developed by Multimatic.

The new supercar comes with integral limited-slip differential, a magnesium torque tube with a carbon fiber propeller shaft and Brembo racing brakes with carbon ceramic racing disc (380mm at the front and 360mm at the rear). The Vulcan sits on 19-inch racing wheels with Michelin tires and it comes with a rear mid-mounted Xtrac 6-speed sequential transmission. Aston also fitted the Vulcan with a pushrod suspension with anti-dive geometry, Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve (DSSV) adjustable dampers, anti-roll bars front and rear, driver-adjustable ABS, and variable traction control.
