Aston Martin revealed last weekend the new DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo concept, which is going to be available in the GranTurismo6 (GT6) video game on PlayStation3. The name of the Aston Martin DP-100 means Design Prototype 100. The DP-100 concept was designed by a team led by Aston's Design Director Marek Reichman. You'll be able to download the DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo concept starting from July 2014. The new concept was launched at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. According to Aston Martin, the DP-100 concept has a mid-engine rear-wheel-drive architecture. It is powered by a twin-turbo V12 engine that develops 800bhp. When designing their GT6 concept, Aston Martin employed the same techniques as the ones used for developing real-life vehicles.
These techniques include hand sketches, 3D modeling, and a full realization in the virtual world.
Some of Aston Martin DP-100's design details, such as the light blade rear lamps, could find their way into future street models.
