Audi revealed today the high-performance RS Q3 (2014), which is going to have its world debut at the 2013 Geneva motor show next month. The Audi RS Q3 is powered by a 2.5 TFSI 2.5-liter turbocharged 5-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 228 kW (310 hp) at 5,200-6,700 rpm and 420 Nm (309.78 lb-ft) of torque between 1,500 and 5,200 rpm. The RS Q3's engine is mated to a 7-speed S tronic transmission and a quattro all-wheel-drive system. With this powertrain, the Audi Q3 RS is able to accelerate from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.5 seconds and to reach an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Audi rates the Q3 RS with a 32.1mpg / 8.8 liters of fuel per 100 km (26.73 US mpg) and a 206 g/km CO2 emissions level.
The Audi RS Q3 comes with the trademark RS oval exhaust tailpipe, bit it has only one, and not two as the other RS models. However, its exhaust system does have flap control to get that distinctive RS sound. It also comes with a Launch Control function.
The Audi RS Q3 comes with a lower and stiffer suspensions system than the regular Q3, and it sits 25 mm (0.98 in) closer to the road. It comes with an electro-mechanical rack and pinion steering system. For the Q3 RS, Audi is offering internally ventilated and perforated brake discs measuring 365 mm (14.37 in), and a special ESC with a sport mode.
The RS Q3 has several distinctive design features, and it's also 25 mm (0.98 in) longer than the regular Q3. It weighs 1,730 kg (3814.00 lb). The Q3 RS comes with matt aluminum body accents and roof rails, sill plates, a distinctive front bumper, a large roof spoiler, and a rear diffuser. There also various RS badges everywhere.
At the interior, the Audi RS Q3 features gray gauges, a sport steering wheel, and a MMI and driver information system that displays boost pressure, oil temperature and a lap timer. Its boot offers 356 liters (12.57 cubic ft) of space, which can be increased to 1,261 liters (44.53 cubic ft) by folding down the rear seats.
The Audi RS Q3's price is set at €54,600 and it will go on sale this fall.
