The 2013 BMW 135is Coupe and Convertible have been revealed today, as they are scheduled to hit the USA showrooms this fall. Both versions of the BMW 135is are powered by the same 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine, with a TwinPower Turbo, a Valvetronic system, and direct injection. The BMW 135is is rated with an output of 320 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque, which is 20 hp and 17 lb-ft more than the 135i. Even though the 135is is more powerful, BMW managed to keep its fuel economy and CO2 emissions at the same level as the 135i. To be able to get the extra horsepowers out of the engine, BMW gave the 135is a performance exhaust system and better cooling (an additional auxiliary radiator).

The new BMW 135is (2013) offers a choice between 6-Speed manual transmission or a 7-speed double clutch transmission. Even though the automatic will probably get more performance out of the BMW 135is, we believe the manual one will offer a better driving experience.

Apart from increased performance, the 135is also features a better suspension system, with an aluminum double-pivot front one and a five-link fully independent rear one. The DSC and the DTC systems of the 135is have been "trained" to intervene later in the game, so the car offers a more spirited experience.

Both the DSC and the DTC can be turned off completely. Probably the party piece of the new BMW 135is is its differential, which features double-helical ball bearings. To simulate a differential lock, the 135is uses its electronic rear brake management system.

The equipment list of the BMW 135is includes 18-inch light alloy wheels, stainless steel pedals, black leather seats and various styling accents. The BMW 135is's price starts at $44,145 for the Coupe, while the Convertible will make your wallet $48,845 lighter.
