BMW 135is announced

According to some sources at the Geneva auto show, BMW is not going to build an M version of the 1 Series coupe. Instead, a BMW 135is is looking more and more like the performance version of the 1 Series. The BMW 135is is going to fall in the same line of models like the 335is and the Z4 is version. If this will be the case, the BMW 135is will be powered by a 3.0-liter twin turbocharged in-line 6 cylinder engine. The BMW 135is will develop 322 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. The new version will be equipped with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or the company's 7-speed double clutch automatic transmission.

The BMW 135is will probably also feature a number of discreet aerodynamics modifications in comparison to the standard model.

The BMW 135is will also feature a stiffer suspension and bigger brakes.

We'll have more details on the BMW 135is as soon as the company makes it official.
