Black Falcon SBC TT1750 Supercar

 »  »  »

Black Falcon Cars revealed today the first Romanian supercar, which is called the SBC-TT1750. Supercar is a bit of an understatement. Based on the Ultima GTR, the Black Falcon SBC-TT1750 develops... wait for it... 1,215 hp on 98 octane fuel. If you'll run it on racing fuel, you'll get 1,750 horsepower out of it! Go back to school Veyron! The power of the SBC-TT1750 comes from a 7.0-liter small block Chevy V8 engine with twin 72 mm turbos that's good for 1,215 hp at 5,850 rpm and 1,400 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. If you put 115 octane gas in it, you'll get 1,750 hp at 5,650 rpm. Black Falcon's official performance figures say that the SBC-TT1750 is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.6 seconds and to reach a top speed of 402 km/h.

They also say that the SBC-TT1750 is able to stop from 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds. The engine is mated to a transaxle 6-speed manual transmission and a rear-wheel-drive system.

The Black Falcon SBC-TT1750 measures 157.4 in. (4,000 mm) in length, 72.83 in (1,850 mm) in width, 41.33 in (1,070 mm) in height and it has a 2,560 mm wheelbase. It has a dry weight of 2300 lbs. (1,221 kg). Black Falcon builds the SBC-TT1750 on a space frame chassis, with a body made from 1.5mm NS4 aluminum alloy sheets. The SBC-TT1750's chassis comes with support struts that eliminate the engine's inertia movement and offer optimal rigidity.

The Chevrolet engine of the SBC-TT1750 is based on a Brodix SBC block built especially for this car by Nelson Racing Engines, USA. The TBFC-6M transaxle transmission was developed in-house by Black Falcon Cars based on a Porsche GT3 gearbox. The SBC-TT1750 is based on the Ultima GTR, but the Romanian carmaker had to modify the rear section of the GTR's chassis to accommodate the turbocharged intercooled engine and the gearbox. Black Falcon fits the SBC-TT1750 with two-way adjustable Ohlins TTX shock absorbers, double unequal length wishbones, pushrods, and sway bars. To make it more comfortable on the road, BFC developed a special sway bar system for both axles.

You'll probably expect the SBC-TT1750's interior to be a Spartan, cold, race car cockpit, but it's not. Black Falcon updated the Ultima GTR's dashboard with a newly developed iBFC touch-screen system, various leather and Alcantara trim parts, as well as gold plated elements. The iBFC is a new interface with an 8-inch screen that promises to offer a better connection between the driver and the car. The SBC-TT1750's electrical system uses solid state digital semiconductor boards and it doesn't require any fuses or relays. The CANbus operated multimedia system offers various telemetric data and it has two operating modes. In race mode you get RPM, pressure, temperature and g-force information, and in City mode you get the car's speed and turn signals. The iBFC system, which was developed in-house, and it can be configured to monitor all of the car's characteristics, from power output levels to whether or not a lamp is broken.

For everyday use, the SBC-TT1750 can be fitted with Michelin PS-XL tires, but if you want to get all the performance it can offer, you'll have to equip it with DOT slick tires.

The Black Falcon SBC-TT1750 is handbuilt in a factory in Romania. It comes with a 1-year warranty and 7000 km / 4375 miles service intervals. You'll have to contact Black Falcon Cars to get the SBC-TT1750's price.
