Bugatti announced today that they're going to premiere the Jean-Pierre Wimille special edition version of the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Pebble Beach this year. The Bugatti Veyron Vitesse Jean-Pierre Wimille is the first special edition model in a line of six cars. Bugatti's new limited edition series, which is called "Les Legendes de Bugatti" (The Legends of Bugatti), is meant to commemorate some of the figures that played an important role in the development of the brand. Jean-Pierre Wimille is the driver who brought two victories for Bugatti at Le Mans. Wimille won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1937, driving a Bugatti 57G Tank and then again in 1939, at the wheel of a 57C Tank. The Bugatti Veyron Vitesse Jean-Pierre Wimille comes with a blue clear-coated carbon fiber body and a light Wimille Bleu finish.

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, on which all six cars are based, is powered by an 8.0-liter, W16 engine that's able to output as much as 1,200 PS and 1,500 Nm of torque. With this engine, the Veyron Vitesse can reach a top speed of 408.84 km/h and it can accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.6 seconds.

The Bugatti Veyron Vitesse Jean-Pierre Wimille's price has not been announced yet.
