Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse

Bugatti revealed today what they call the "most powerful roadster of all time" - the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse - which debuts at the 2012 Geneva auto show. Not many details have been released so far, but we do know that Bugatti's Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse develops 1,200 hp and an incredible 1,500 Nm of torque. The Vitesse is basically an open-top version of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which has the same power output and probably an identical engine. To get the extra horsepowers out of the Veyron Grand Sport's 16-cylinder engine, Bugatti uses four larger turbos and intercoolers. The Super Sport is limited to a top speed of 415 km/h, even though it can reach a maximum speed of 431,072 km/h (268 mph). The Veyron Vitesse can hit the same magic figure, but it will probably be limited to a much lower maximum speed.

The Bugatti Vitesse comes with a modified chassis (to support higher stress levels), and probably bigger brakes. We'll have all the specifications and details of the Bugatti Veyron Vitesse at the time of its premiere next month.

UPDATE: Full specifications of the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse are available here.
