Chevrolet has unveiled yesterday the new Camaro Convertible Pace Car which will do the honors at the 2011 Indianapolis 500 race. The Chevrolet Camaro Convertible is the 22nd Chevy to be chosen as the Pace Car for the famous Indy 500 race. The Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Pace Car is powered by the V8 engine developing 400 hp (298 kW) which is coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Chevy says the car did not require any modifications in order to able to head the race. The Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Pace Car comes with Brembo brakes with four-piston calipers and hydraulic assist, StabiliTrak electronic stability control and the launch control function.

Apart from the 2SS equipment, the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Pace Car also features the RS package, including HID headlamps and unique tail lamps.
