In the latest episode of his web-based car show, Mr. Jay Leno reviews a custom built Hennessey Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, the Hennessey HPE600. Hennessey's Chevy Camaro is one of the most powerful convertibles on the road today. It's powered by a monster LS9 6.2-liter supercharged and intercooled engine that sends 755 bhp at 6,400 rpm and 763 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 rpm to the rear wheels. Hennessey's official specifications say that their Camaro Convertible is able to rocket from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and that it can run the quarter mile in 10.9 seconds at 130 mph.
The Hennessey Camaro Convertible is not just about speed in a straight line. It's manufacturer says it can pull up to 1.01 G during cornering
and that it can stop from 60 mph in 104 ft.
The Hennessey Camaro Convertible is able to offer such performance figures thanks to a long list of modifications. The custom parts range from engine and transmission, to suspension, brakes and aerodynamics.
