Clarion revealed today their latest integrated in-car infotainment system, the FZ501E, which features a mechless (no-moving mechanical parts) audio head unit. Clarion's FZ501E features a seven-way rotary control, which eliminates the need for other controls and promises to be more intuitive than before. The Clarion FZ501E also comes with built-in Bluetooth support and an integral microphone with direct phone list access via the head unit controls. The front auxiliary input of the FZ501E supports ancillary media players, as well as the classic USB, MP3 and WMA.

The Clarion FZ501E supports iPhone integration via a USB slot on the front of the head unit. The FZ501E also supports iPod video, but you'll need a CCA748 cable and universal monitor.

Other options offered by Clarion include stand-alone screens that connect to the FZ501E via 4-channel line-outs.

The Clarion FZ501E specifications list says it features a 4 x 50 watt MOS-FET internal power amplifier, built-in high pass and low pass filters and Beat EQ.

Clarion set the price of the FZ501E at 170 GBP.
