Drowsy Driving equals Drunk Driving

 »  »  »

A recent study done by the U.S. National Road Safety Foundation shows that drowsy driving is just as dangerous as drunk driving. Around 37% of drivers admit to falling asleep at the wheel. At highway speeds, if keep your eyes closed for 3 or 4 seconds, is enough to cause a serious accident. Other studies show that a 24 hour no sleep period has the same effect on your driving skills as drinking half a bottle of scotch.

How can you know when you're to tired to drive? When you have difficulty focusing, yawn, rub your eyes, blink repeatedly. Or you catch yourself tailgating, drifting out of lane, hitting rumble strips.

If you have any of these symptoms, it's time for to pull over and have a nap.
