Texting While Driving Illegal In 30 States

 »  »  »

Texting while driving has officially become illegal in 30 U.S. states. Delaware has become the 30th state to ban texting while driving as Gov. Jack Martell signed the special law last week. Drivers caught texting while driving will be fined.

Before Delaware, Massachusetts also banned texting while driving and announced a 100 USD fine for anyone caught doing it at the wheel. For the second offense, the fine raises to 250 USD and for the third at an amazing 500 USD. If you ask us however, we believe a 500 USD fine is justified taking into account the risks involved by this activity.

For 18-year-olds this law is even more harsh.

Anyone under the age of 18 caught texting while driving will also have their license suspended for 60 days. Before getting back behind the wheel, the kids will also have to take a special course that will teach them not to use their cell phone while driving.
