What can a small car manufacturer do when Bugatti unveils a 1,200 hp Veyron? Well, how about a 2,000 hp TranStar Dagger GT supercar? TranStar Racing, formerly known as GTR-XS Racing, is announcing they're going to build the TranStar Dagger GT which apparently outputs 2,000 hp. The power of the TranStar Dagger GT supercar comes from a GM built 9.4 liter V8 engine that has 2000 lb-ft of torque. With a 212.8 hp per liter power-to-weight ration, the new supercar aims to be the fastest production model in the world. the manufacturer believes the TranStar Dagger GT will be able to get from 0 to 60 mph in under 1.5 seconds and to a top speed of 300 mph. That's roughly 480 km/h !

The TranStar Dagger GT price will start at

450,000 USD and the company plans to deliver 5 of them in 2011.

The manufacturer claims it has tested the new supercar on the Nurburgring and Virginia International Raceway and it managed to complete the quarter mile below 6.7 seconds at 200 mph.

Other details of the construction of the TranStar Dagger GT have not been released yet, but the company says it has already five units under contract and is negotiating for 10 more for 2012.
