Ford has announced today that its Ford F450 and F550 Super Duty chassis cabs models will receive a CNG (compressed natural gas) and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) engine prep packages. The Ford F450 and F550 CNG LPG kits will fit the 6.8-liter powered models and will become available later this year. The Ford F450 and the Ford F550 are powered by a V10 6.8-liter engine that will get through the CNG LPG package hardened exhaust valves and valve seats required for using gaseous fuel systems.
Apart from the Ford F450 and F550 CNG LPG packages announced today, The Blue Oval also announced that this options will be made available on the Transit Connect together with its Taxi version, the F-53 motor home chassis and the new F-59 commercial strip chassis.
