Ford F150 Gets Mustang Sport Mode

Ford announced recently that the 2015 is going to be available with a Sport Mode. The new sport Mode is made possible by the fact that the 2015 Ford F150 will be sold with the same 6-speed automatic transmission as the new Mustang. The new Sport Mode of the Ford F150 is available in two-wheel drive, four-wheel-drive automatic and four-wheel-drive high settings. We're not really sure why would you need a sport mode in a pickup truck, but we guess it would be pretty cool to have one. To engage the new sport mode, you'll have to push the tow/haul mode button twice. At that point, an amber S is going to appear in the lower-right portion of the tachometer. This new feature of the F150 truck increases the frequency of the gearshifts to keep the engine in the optimum powerband.

At the same time, it keeps the lower gears for a longer period of time. The sport mode will come in handy when riding on twisty roads and it will offer a more responsive and spirited driving experience.

In the new sport mode, the Ford F150 is going to match the revs when downshifting.
