Ford revealed today at the 2013 NAIAS the new Atlas Concept that previews the future generation 2015 F150 pick-up truck. The Ford Atlas shows a purpose driven design, with wide wheel arches, and a planted stance meant to enforce the Built Ford Tough image. Ford's Atlas concept comes with multiple innovations, such as multiple tie-down points that are integrated into the loading bay walls and load floor, 110-volt electrical outlets, an integrated roof carrying system and hidden extendable ramps. To power the Atlas, Ford uses a new EcoBoost powertrain that comes with an Auto Start-Stop system that was especially developed for trucks. To increase the efficiency of the new Atlas pickup truck, Ford gave it a few aerodynamic enhancements.

These include Active Grille Shutters, Active Wheel Shutters, a Drop-Down Front Air Dam, and Power Running Boards. Ford says that they account for a 2-mpg improvement on the highway.

The equipment list of the Ford Atlas Concept includes:

- Dual-Purpose Tailgate Step and Cargo Cradle
- Dynamic Hitch Assist
- 360-Degree Point-of-View Camera
- LED Headlamps and Taillamps
- LED Cargo Box and Side Mirror Lighting
- Hidden Cargo Ramps

We'll have more details about the Atlas concept as soon as Ford makes them available.
