Giugiaro Vadho

 »  »  »

Built from scratch on a dedicated chassis (though reminiscent in many ways to the BMW H2R speed demon from 2004), the Italdesign Giugiaro Vadho takes hydrogen driving to infinity and beyond.

This is Giugiaro’s first 100 percent hydrogen showcar and it has room for one pilot sitting in a snug swivel-seat that allows setup on the left, center, or right of the cockpit, depending on your country. One passenger sits behind, so the aerospace impression is deliberate. There is no steering wheel, just two joystick controls - one for each grubby mitt. All operations for driving and power are by-wire. The engine running on liquid H2 sits amidships next to the rear passenger and on the right side.

Notice, too, that Italdesign Giugiaro is using the Vadho to launch its brand new company logo. On the hood there’s a large red G, at last acknowledging that noone on Earth has ever cared much about the "Italdesign" part of the company name.
