Hamann Motorsport, the aftermarket specialists, announced today that the company's founder, Richard Hamann, passed away on March 17th, 2011. After a severe illness, Hamann's founder is no longer among us, causing an enormous loss for the company. Hamann Motorsport announced that it will always honor his memory and will continue to run things according to his wishes.
Hamann Motorsport was founded back in 1086 and since then, it has competed in more than 700 races, managing around 300 podium finishes. The German tuner won three times the Special Touring Car Trophy with the BMW M1, together with other 103 victories.
Lately, Hamann is specializing in customizing and
upgrading various models from BMW, Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini.
This represents a great loss for the tuning scene and motorsport in general.
