Infiniti QX56 Boat

 »  »  »

Infiniti announced today that they're working on a QX56-powered luxury boat, that will also feature the SUV's leather seats, XM satellite radio with NavWeather, Bose speakers and signature analog clock. The Infiniti QX56 boat is being built by a team of students from Tennessee Technical Center-Nashville and Nashville State Community College. They're helped by Infiniti engineers and training managers. The students removed the 5.6-liter engine and 7-speed automatic transmission from a 2012 Infiniti QX56 to use them to power the luxury boat.

The new luxury boat will use the same starter and electronic control unit as QX56, but it will not need the SUV's other components, such as the power steering pump.

So far these are the only details Infiniti released regarding the new QX56 boat. However, they did announce they will release further details and teaser images of the new Infiniti QX56 boat in the following weeks.

The 2011 Infiniti QX56 is powered by a 5.6-liter V8 engine, which outputs 400 hp and more than 410 lb-ft of torque. We guess it will be enough for a decent luxury boat.
