 »  »  »

The Brits from Autocar have reported yesterday that a Jaguar XJ hybrid is in the works. Apparently, the Jaguar XJ hybrid will have a similar powertrain as the new Opel Ampera and the Chevrolet Volt which involves an electric motor powered by batteries re-charged while on the move by a small combustion engine.

The Jaguar XJ hybrid will have a range of 30 miles on electricity only and will be capable of reaching a top speed of more than 100 mph. The Jaguar XJ hybrid will have a fuel economy of almost 60 mpg.

The Jaguar XJ hybrid will enter production in two year's time and will hit the market after the new generation of the XJ will be launched.

There is no information on the price of the Jaguar XJ hybrid yet.
