As you have probably already heard, Jason Plato, one of the presenters on Fifth Gear had a fire related accident in a Caparo T1.

The Caparo T1 is the masterpiece of two British engineers who worked on the McLaren F1. The Caparo T1 is powered by a 3.5 liter V8 engine taken from an Indy car that takes it from 0 to 60 mph in less than 2.5 seconds, thus making it the fastest accelerating car in the world. If you feel that is not enough, 0 to 100 mph takes less than 5.0 seconds. The Caparo T1 has a carbon fiber body and is priced around 190,000 pounds.

About the accident - while doing 150 mph

Jason Plato felt heat surrounding him and got out of the car as quickly as he could. But he still sustained burns to his hands, face and neck.

If you watch closely you can see the flames in the side rear view mirror.

The Caparo engineers figured out that the fire started because of a faulty oil component.
