Jeep Wrangler SRT8 Info

 »  »  »

According to various sources, Jeep is working on a SRT8, HEMI powered version of the Wrangler. The info on Jeep's SRT8 Wrangler comes from a 'well-placed and trustworthy tipster', who also mentions that the vehicle is being built for the brand's CEO, Michael Manley. Apparently, the Jeep Wrangler SRT8 will be powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that produces 470 hp and 637 Nm of torque. What we don't know so far is where will those horsepowers go, the rear wheels, or all four wheels. So, the Wrangler SRT8 is going to get the same monster engine as the much heavier Grand Cherokee SRT8. This means it will be capable of delivering blistering performance.

Jeep is expected to reveal the Wrangler SRT8 at the next New York Auto Show.

So far, the Wrangler SRT8 is considered an experimental / one-off vehicle, but there are strong indications that it might just make it into production.

We'll follow the story and we'll have more info on the Jeep Wrangler SRT8 as soon as it surfaces.
