Kia revealed today the new Soul EV (Electric Vehicle), complete with all its details and specs. The Kia Soul EV is going to have its global debut next month at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. So far, Kia did not disclose the Soul EV's price, but the carmaker does mention it's going to put it into production later this year. The Kia Soul EV is based on the second generation of the model and it comes with front wheel drive. The power of the Soul EV comes from a 27 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack with a 200 Wh/kg energy density. Kia equips the Soul EV with an 81.4 kW electric motor that develops 285 Nm of torque. According to Kia, the Soul EV has a maximum range of around 124 miles (200 km) on a full charge of the battery.

To increase the range of the Soul EV, Kia equips it with a newly developed heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system that comes with a "driver-only" individual ventilation system. The Kia Soul EV is going to be sold with four-mode regenerative braking and a battery heating system.

The EV version of the Kia Soul is going to have a slightly smaller luggage compartment, since the batteries are stored just under it. Kia is going to sell the Soul EV with a seven year / 100,000 mile warranty.
