Kia announced today the specifications of the pro_ceed GT, which it's going on sale at the middle of 2013. The Kia pro_ceed GT is going to have a three-door body style and it will be powered by a 1.6-litre GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) petrol engine that comes with a twin-scroll turbocharger. Kia rates the pro_ceed GT's output at 204 PS (201 bhp) and 265 Nm (195 lb/ft) of torque. This is 51 per cent more horsepower than the non-turbo version of the same engine and 61 per cent more torque. The six-speed manual transmission version of the new pro_ceed GT will be able to accelerate from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.9 seconds. The top speed of the new hatch has not been confirmed yet. Kia says they improved the chassis and suspension of the pro_ceed GT.
They also strengthened its engine's internal components.
The Kia pro_ceed GT will come with new grilles and headlights, more aggressive bumpers, 18-inch alloys with red brake calipers and distinctive exterior finishes. The new hot hatch comes with distinctive LED daytime running lights.
For the interior of the pro_ceed GT, Kia is offering Recaro seats, alloy pedals and higher quality surface materials. The pro_ceed GT's price is going to be announced at a later date.
