The British journalists from Evo Magazine took the Lamborghini Gallardo Performante for a race against an aerobatics plane on the Bedford Autodrome. The plane used for the comparison test is an Extra EA-300LP which has an output of 296 bhp. The party piece of the plane however, is not its power, but its turning capabilities. apparently, this type of plane can pull up to 10 G during cornering. That's enough for the pilot to black out if he's not properly trained. The plane is being 'driven' around the track by former Red Arrow pilot Myles Garland.
The Lamborghini Gallardo Performante develops almost twice as much as the plane. It has a 5.2 liters V10 engine which is good for 570 hp and 540 Nm of torque.
The Gallardo Performante has a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 324 km/h.
