Lamborghini LM00X SUV

British sources are reporting today that the Lambo SUV might be back on the map as the Italian supercar manufacturer is working on the Lamborghini LM00X. The previous Lambo SUV was called the LM002 (picture) and the company had, at one point, plans to throw it into the Dakar Rally battle. However, the Lamborghini LM002 never made it that far.

The new Lamborghini LM00X SUV will be built on the Audi Q5 platform, which will also be shared by the upcoming Porsche Cajun. The Lamborghini LM00X SUV will have a 4x4 traction system, probably based on Audi's award winning quattro.

The Lamborghini LM00X SUV will be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that will output

around 550 hp. The expected performance figures of the Lamborghini LM00X SUV put it into the less than 4 seconds to 100 km/h club, however, we believe this is a bit too much. If it will become a reality, the Lamborghini LM00X SUV might get from 0 to 100 km/h in the high 5 seconds range.

The Lamborghini LM00X SUV will have a three-door coupe architecture, with supercar-like styling and a lot of carbon fiber. This will be necessary to keep the weight of the car to a minimum.

The Lamborghini LM00X SUV price will be in the 100,000 GBP range and it's expected to hit the market by 2012.
