Mini has revealed yesterday the new MINI Cooper SD, Countryman and Clubman models with come with a new, efficient and potent diesel engine. The MINI Cooper SD, the SD Countryman and the SD Clubman will feature a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine developing 105 kW/143 hp at 4,000 rpm and 305 Nm (225 lb-ft) of torque between 1,750 and 2,700 rpm. The new engine of the MINI Cooper SD has an all-aluminum crankcase, a turbocharger with variable intake geometry, and common-rail direct injection with solenoid-valve injectors.
The MINI Cooper SD, which is available both as a hard-top and convertible, has a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time of 8.1 seconds and a top speed of 215 km/h (134 mph).
As far as efficiency figures go, the MINI Cooper SD has an official fuel consumption of 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers (65.7 mpg imp) and a g/km CO2 emissions level. The MINI Cooper SD cabrio is a little slower to 100 km/h, with a 8.7 seconds sprint time and has a lower top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph). In terms of efficiency, the MINI Cooper SD Convertible has a 4.5 liters per 100 km (62.8 mpg imp) fuel consumption and emits 118 g of CO2 per kilometer.
The MINI Cooper SD Clubman has a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 8.6 seconds and a top speed of
215 km/h (134 mph). The average fuel consumption of the MINI Cooper SD Clubman is rated at 4.4 liters per 100 km (64.2 mpg imp), with a 115 g/km CO2 emissions level.
The MINI Cooper SD Countryman is available with both FWD and the All4 all-wheel-drive system. The MINI Cooper SD Countryman All4 needs 9.4 seconds to get to 100 km/h (62 mph) while the front-wheel-drive version can make the journey in 9.3 seconds. The MINI Cooper SD Countryman has a top speed of 198 km/h as a FWD and 195 km/h as All4. The front-wheel-drive MINI Cooper SD Countryman has fuel economy of 4.6 liters per 100 km,
the all-wheel-drive variant achieves 4.9 liters per 100 km. CO2 emissions are 122 and 130 grams per kilometer respectively.
