Mazda has announced today that it will begin the production of the model their new plant in Thailand and also released the first images of the Mazda2 facelift. At a first look, the Mazda2 facelift comes with a re-designed front end, with a larger grille and new housings for the fog lights. The rear of the Mazda2 facelift remains unchanged, and so are the headlights and rear light clusters.

The Mazda2 facelift is expected to be sold in around 20,000 units per year around the Asian market. The company says the Mazda2 facelift will be sold mainly in this area, so it's not sure whether or not it will reach the shores of the old continent.
