Mazda is showing its darker side today with two limited edition models: the MX5 Sport Black and the Mazda2 Black. both models are track inspired and they will go on sale this month. The Mazda MX5 Sport Black limited edition is inspired by this year's GT race car which is competing in the Britcar Production GTN Championship. Mazda's new limited edition MX5 features a Brilliant Black powered retractable hard-top, 17-inch light alloy wheels and a choice between three exterior colors: Spirited Green metallic, Crystal White Pearlescent and Velocity Red mica. The Sport Black MX5 comes with a special leather interior with contrasting stitching, a unique steering wheel and deco panel, a numbered plaque, exterior badging and new floor mats.
The MX5 Black is powered by the 2.0-litre engine, which outputs 160 PS, and is coupled with the six-speed transmission.
Mazda equips the MX5 Sport Black with a Bose audio system, climate control air-conditioning, Bluetooth hands-free, cruise control and front fog lights. The MX5 Sport Black And Mazda2 Black price list starts at 22,995 GBP and Mazda will build it in 500 units only.
The Mazda2 Black limited edition is based on the 5-door Tamura model and is powered by the 1.3-litre engine, which is good for 84 PS. The Mazda2 Black is equipped with matt black 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, tinted windows, a unique rear bumper, climate control air-conditioning, and a Parrot Bluetooth system.
The Mazda2 Black price list starts at 12,395 GBP for the True Red version and at 12,815 GBP for the metallic and pearlescent models. Mazda will build 618 units of the Mazda2 Black.
