Mazda revealed today at the 2016 New York Auto Show the MX5 RF (Retractable Fastback), which features a retractable hardtop. The Mazda MX5 RF comes with fastback styling with a smooth roofline. It features a distinctive a rear roof and retractable back window. The Mazda MX5 RF's roof can be opened or closed at speeds of up to 10km/h. Mazda plans to sell the MX5 RF with a choice between the SKYACTIV-G 1.5 and the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 petrol engines. Both versions of the new Mazda MX5 hardtop are mated to a six-speed SKYACTIV-MT manual transmission. Optionally, you can equip your MX5 hardtop with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
The Mazda MX5 RF hardtop comes with a few distinctive features. For starters, it's going to be available with the new Machine Grey exterior finish.
This new finish includes a three-coat paint structure, high-brightness aluminum flakes, and a Jet black pigment.
The Mazda MX5 RF's price has not been announced yet. Its launch date is going to be announced at a later date.
