According to Autocar, the German carmaker is planning to remove the CLC from its line-up and to introduce the Mercedes C Class Coupe in 2011. The Mercedes C Class Coupe is the second 2-door model based on the C Class platform and will be the first of the two to wear the same name as the base model. The Mercedes C Class Coupe is expected to have a distinct styling that will make it a worthy successor of the CLK. A company insider, specialized in design, said that when they developed the Mercedes C Class Coupe, they went back to what made the company's coupes so popular.
The Mercedes C Class Coupe is expected to stay on sale for around four years, as the new generation of the model is on the drawing board.
The manufacturer also said that a convertible version of the Mercedes C Class Coupe is highly unlikely.
We'll have more details on the Mercedes C Class Coupe, including pricing and availability, as soon as the manufacturer makes it official.
