The new Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe, which has been revealed today, is one of the best looking Merc’s we’ve seen so far. Mercedes released today all its specs and its equipment list. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a bit longer to find out its price. The world debut of the S63 AMG Coupe is going to take place this April at the 2014 New York International Auto Show. Mercedes is going to sell the coupe version of the S63 AMG in two versions: a 4MATIC all-wheel-drive variant and a rear-wheel drive model. The Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe 4MATIC will go on sale in April, while the RWD version is set to go on sale in July. Both versions will start being delivered in September. The S63 AMG Coupe is Merc's first implementation of the MAGIC BODY CONTROL suspension system's curve tilting function.

This new function improves the car's driving pleasure and comfort.

The Mercedes S63 Coupe is powered by the 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine, which, according to the official specifications, develops 430 kW (585 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 900 Nm of torque between 2,250 rpm and 3,750 rpm. Mercedes' specs also say that the S63 coupe can accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds (RWD) or 3.9 seconds (4MATIC). Both versions of the coupe S63 AMG are limited to a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

What's interesting is that both versions of the S63 coupe weigh the same 1,995 kg. Usually, the AWD system adds around 100 kg to the total weight of a car. In terms of efficiency, Mercedes rates the RWD S63 AMG coupe with a fuel consumption of 10.1 l/100 km (27.9 mpg UK), while the 4MATIC comes with a fuel economy of 10.3 l/100 km. The CO2 emissions are 237 g/km for the RWD and 242 g/km for the 4MATIC.

In comparison to tis predecessor, the CL63 AMG, the new S63 AMG Coupe weighs 65 kg less thanks to the Mercedes' new Lightweight Performance strategy. The engine of the coupe S63 is mated to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission that comes with three driving modes: "C" (Controlled Efficiency), "S" (Sport) and "M" (Manual). The S63 AMG is also equipped with an ECO start/stop function. As you can imagine, the S63 AMG comes with a sports exhaust system with automatic exhaust flaps, the AIRMATIC air suspension and 19- or 20-inch forged wheels. The S63 AMG coupe's curve tilting function allows it to lean into curves much like a motorcyclist or skier.

The Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe's equipment list includes carbon ceramic brakes, a distinctive aerodynamic package, and various interior upgrades.

As you can imagine there's going to be a Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe Edition 1, which will come with several exclusive enhancements.
